TATA Nano: Will the computerised draw be really fair?

We all know that pre-programmed conditions can be incorporated in the software which may make the process of random selection seem unbiased, but it may not actually be so. Some conditions may have been pre-imposed..

WE ARE all aware that the allotment of the first phase of Tata Nano cars would be through a computerised random selection method. This would reportedly be conducted under designated observers. However, my concern is: How fair or unbiased will this random selection be?Additionally, we all know that pre-programmed conditions can be incorporated in the software which may make the process seem unbiased, but it may not actually be so.In essence, the general public may feel that everything is being done in a fair manner, but some conditions may have been pre-imposed like the following:

1. Allotting the car to the people who have made down payment of the booking amount.

This would help Tata Motors sale the car without any withdrawal from the already paid amount, as has been predicted by many experts.

2. Allotting the car to the people who have opted for finance from Tata Finance, as that would again add to the liquidity of Tata Motors.

3. Allotting the car to some preferred cities where the initial transportation would be easier from the Pantnagar plant.

…………… and many others. How do we assess or know the fairness of the draw and gain confidence, is my question to all. Please suggest your views on my concerns and suggest if I have been false or unrealistic in my thinking. I believe I am not, and that I have raised a question that is haunting the minds of many others.
