Imphal, Nov 15: The meeting of the state Advisory Board on National Security Act (NSA) held on October 31 last month at Manipur Centralk Jail, Sajiwa approved the dentention of 18 undertrial prisioners including editor of the Paojel evening daily to be detained under NSA as recomended by the state government.
According to official sources, the meeting of state Advisory Board on NSA was convened on October 31 last month at Central Jail, Sajiwa around 2.30 pm.
The 18 undertrials approved for NSA detention include editor of the Paojel evening daily Ranjit Oinamcha alias Oinam Ranjit Singh, 46, son of O Ningthem Singh of Keibul Lamjao Chingmei presently residence of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai,who was arrested by the secuirty forces in possession of a huge amount of money belonging ot one of the under groud groups before months back from his newspaper office, and environemtal actvist and former IFP staff Yumnam Jiten alias Jiten Yumnam, 33, son of late Y Achouba of Kwakeitthel Mayai Koibi who was arrested by the state police from Imphal Airport during first week of the September this year on charge of extending support to the agitation of Apunba Lup.
The others are Selheibam Joymani alias Joy alias Jayanta alias Malangba, 31, son of S Gouramani Meitei of Andro Uchol Awang Leikai, Leitangthem Samanda Singh alias Chingnunghut alias Yangba alias Naoba alias Sevenkumar alias Jubi alias Lyamba, 31, son of L Shamungou Singh alias Naobi of Kongpal Chanam Leikai, Yendremabam Anand Singh alias Naobi, 35 son of Y Achou Singh of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, Irom Priyokumar Singh alias Naocha, 41, son of I Modhu Singh of Kwakeithel LAishram Leikai, Irom Brojen Singh, 41, son of Gouramani Singh of Haorang Khunou, Amom Soken Singh, 4, son of A Kanhai Singh of Wangoo Tera Mamang Leikai, Taorem Ramananda Khuman alias Kongang, 50, son of T Dhanajoy of Patsoi Part-I, Laishram Sunil Singh, 29, son of L Birendrakumar Singh of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, Oinam Guneshwore Singh Chairenlakpa, 35, son og O Shamungou Singh of Thanga Chingkha Mayai Leikai, Miss Boi Vaiphei alias Aboi, 30, daughter of Lalsimthang Vaiphei of Kangvai bazar, Sorokhaibam Sanayaima Meitei, 45, son of Nityai Meitei of Salam Mamang Leikai, Choudhurimayum (N) Koijam (O) Memcha Leima Promila, 51, wife of AK Ibomcha Singh of Thoubal Melaground Haobijam Leirak, Fancis Ashuli Mao alias Ashuli, 29, son of late Adani Mao of Mao Pundong village, RK Imocha Singh alias Somorjit, 41, son of RK Nehajit Singh of Singjamei Wangma Beigabati Leikai, Khumallambam Jiten Singh alias Brojen alias Tyson alias Sana, 36, son of Kh Shamu Singh of Nongren Laikei and Shongtham Laingam alias Budhi alias Laingam Chongtham, 24 son of late Ch Doren Singh of Sogolband Tera Amudon Akham Leikai were approved for detention under NSA, the source added.
