The apex court dismissed the plea of retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chandra Tripathi’s plea without giving any reasons.
The three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of India SH Kapadia, Justice KS Radhakrishnan and Justice Aftab Alam cleared the way for Allahabad High Court to deliver the verdict into the dispute over Ayodhya/Babri Masjid title.
The various political parties and the regional organization have welcomed the apex court verdict.
BJP spokesman Balbir Punj hailed the verdict and expressed his happiness over the apex court order.
The Hindu Mahasabha, one of the parties in the case, also described the Supreme Court order as good.
The UPA government at the Centre also welcomed the decision.
The Sunni Central Waqf Board, who opposed the RC Tripathi's plea, said that High Court’s verdict will only be accepted into the case.
Meanwhile, the security has been beefed up at Ayodhya in Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
It is expected that Special Ayodhya Bench of Allahabad High Court will pronounce the long awaited verdict on September 30.
The High Court judge is also set for retirement on September 30.
