Indian CWG athlete fails dope test

New Delhi: India's gold rush notwithstanding, Wednesday morning brought some depressing news for the country.

One Indian athlete has reportedly tested positive for a banned substance. The name of the athlete has been withheld by the CGF. The 'B' sample report is still awaited for further confirmation.
An Indian athlete has failed the dope test at the Commonwealth Games, CWG Federation president Michael Fennell said.
"We got the reports of the doping test late last (Tuesday) night. We have informed the Indian chef de mission at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) about the athlete testing positive for a drug," he said.

"We cannot disclose the name or identity of the player as we have not got the confirmation from the player."
"The chef de mission is supposed to reply by this afternoon and then we will disclose the name of the player. The player is from athletics," he said.
TV new channels reveal that the athelete caught in the doping net maybe a wrestler.
