A government helicopter on Thursday crashed at Chandigarh airport immediately after taking off.The chopper caught fire just after it took off from the airport.
The pilot and co-pilot of the helicopter were injured in the mishap. The airport staff rushed them to a nearby hospital immediately.
Fire tenders were rushed in to douse the fire. The fire fighters are trying to control the fire.
The chopper, which belongs to a private company, Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd., was taken on lease by Punjab government.
According to the intial reports, the chopper caught fire due to technical problem.
