Gayatri Sharma, 40, and her daughters sleep on a bed at one corner of a lane in Mayur Vihar-1, making them easy targets for miscreants.
What is worse is that Gayatri's 'mentally challenged' husband, Mukesh, has been missing since September 4 - the day they were evicted from their house.
Gayatri Sharma and her two teenage daughters have been living outside their locked residence in Mayur Vihar

'My husband who is mentally challenged was a mute spectator to all this. They may have forcibly made him sign the papers as well. I was out at work and my daughters were at school,' Gayatri, the only earning member of the family, said.
Gayatri has lodged a complaint regarding her missing husband at the Mayur Vihar-1 police station. But she is not happy about police inaction in the case.
The family's ordeal began a few years ago when they found out that Mukesh's sister Sunita had 'fraudulently transferred' the deed of their house in her name and sold it to their neighbour.
The family, however, has never seen the new deed. Gayatri said the family is being continuously threatened and the neighbour who threw them out is trying to malign her and her daughters' image.
The neighbour chased them out and locked their house
'These people are trying to scare us. We sleep in the open at night so any miscreant can create trouble for us,' she said. The neighbour who claims to have bought the property has also put his belongings in the house and locked it.
'When I tried to break open the lock, some people filmed it on their mobile phones and threatened to manipulate it so as to make it appear like we were robbing the house,' one of the daughters said.
Although the court has asked both families to meet on September 14, the victims are unhappy with the police.
'The police come here and lecture us but do nothing against these criminals,' Gayatri said.
